Kathleen Marinaccio has over 19 years of graphic design, printing and teaching experience. She specializes in promotions and custom prize fulfillment, marketing (including direct sales pieces, packaging, web solutions and corporate identity) for a number of different industries.
A graduate with honors from Pratt Institute with a BFA in Communication Design, she began her career as Assistant Graphic Designer at HarperCollins Publishers within a year was Senior Designer at Lotus Group a design and marketing firm in New York City, while at Lotus Kathleen expanded her career by freelancing as a Graphic Designer for Marvel Entertainment. Eventually going over to Marvel full-time until moving to Los Angeles in 1995 where she became become New World Entertainment's International and Domestic Creative Director. After the sale of New World Entertainment, Applied Graphics Technology recruited Kathleen where, as Art Director, she handled projects for Walt Disney Feature Animation, Walt Disney Theatrical and Marvel Characters, Inc. Kathleen is currently Senior Partner / Creative Director at Fishbrain, llc where she specializes in custom promotions and prizes packages, corporate identity, website design, direct marketing campaigns as well as the day-to-day office operations including project scheduling, print management, purchasing, billing, invoicing, hiring of freelancers and the company’s intern program. Kathleen has been a Professor of Graphic Design and Computer Graphics at Otis College of Art and Design since 2003.
Kathleen along with her business partner Dana, was nominated for a prestigious 2006 Key Art Award for Duece Bigalow: European Gigalow Press Kit, the result of their three-year creative collaboration with Sony Pictures in the development of promotional materials for their film divisions.
Kathleen has a special gift of creating cross-branded entertainment promotions and concepts in time parameters. There is no project that she won't take on and her experience and connections allow for each project to be done on time and within budget. From promotions to corporate ID, marketing real estate to email blasts for a online boutique, Kathleen will tell you that she can design anything. She has a passion for developing creative materials that communicate and inspire.
Kathleen has created identities, marketing and branding strategies for Solargenics, FX, and Solarvision sunglasses (boutique eyewear brands at Macy's, Sak's Fifth Avenue, and Bloomingdales); Target’s UltraTek Sunglasses, WalMart’s See The World In Style, and Kmart’s Sun Smart sunglass programs, New York City's ABBY Restaurant & Bar, The Water Garden's Network's Cafe, Marvel Mania, Friends Behind Friends, Personally Fit Exclusive Exercise Center, Imperial Square Music Studio, and musician Stacy Robin. She’s masterminded the graphics and production for direct marketing campaigns for Horizon at Playa Vista, M. David Paul & Associates, Aon Center at 707 Wilshire, City National Plaza, San Francisco State University's College of Business, Starlight Children's Foundation and Wise Senior Services.
She also loves teaching, photography, sculpture and oil painting. Kathleen is very active in the community and loves to work with non-profit organizations to bring beauty and consistancy to whatever they do.
